Have had to take apart ans clean sensors far too often whenever error code pops up. Had to replace the pump a few years ago when new. Then tonight something started leaking on the factory fittings where the pump and grinder is under the unit. It flooded my kitchen so bad and there's water trapped under my subfloor it's gonna cost me thousands to replace. Horrible product. Do not buy. Never had issues with Samsung appliances whish I bought a Samsung. First time with GE and won't do that ago. Will tell everyone I know about these issues.

We closed on our home just over a month ago and it came with a GE dishwasher. The GE dishwasher has a manufactured default, as confirmed by a home inspector and 3rd party technician GE sent out to fix the issue. We reached out to GE the week of August 3rd to let them know that the dishwasher has caused damage to our flooring and cabinets and is continuing to leak. They told me that Bodewell, their service company, does not service our area and a 3rd party company can come August 14th, their earliest appointment. They arrived and spent 2.5 hours at our house to repair it. They told us that the leaking was due to a defective product and that this dishwasher was the 3rd one he serviced that day. I reached back out to GE on August 17th, when they were open, and was told they could not do anything about it till they received the report. I called back on August 18th. The report stated that the dishwasher was not "not repairable" so they told me they would send Bodewell out on August 20th, the company that originally did not service our area. Bodewell arrived on the 20th and during the inspection, the water leaked onto the floor. They quickly wiped the water droplet away and I asked if he saw that. The Bodewell employee told me he saw the water droplet but not the leak. I asked him to clarify and he used the same wording multiple times, which I assume is to make sure he can say he did not see the issue that was causing the damage. Bodewell told me the earliest they can get the part and service is Sept 8th. This would be a month without the product. I believe GE and Bodewell as stalling out service and repair to make sure we fall out of the warranty period. I am demanding a replacement dishwasher as this has caused extensive damage to our new home and the service from GE/Bodewell is insufficient. Failing to make repairs in a timely manner and providing a defective product is equivalent not providing the product purchased, which puts them in violation of warranty.

Electrical issues

Washer worked fine for about a year. Then one day it threw a code DLF, door lock fault, and would not work. Had to replace the circuit board. After purchasing a OEM GE board with tax and shipping the price came to $250 which is probably about half of what I paid for the machine. No I never registered my dishwasher, or checked to see if it was under warranty still. Just sorta thought it would last more than 1 year, which it did not.

Making strange noise out of the box

Not happy with this dishwasher. It makes a very loud tapping noise during the rinse cycle, definitely not right. I found a screw missing on the arm that supplies water to the top rack. Not sure yet if the 2 issues are related, but seems like poor quality control at the least.

This was builder installed. It's a bit too small and feels "inexpensive", but it cleans well enough thus far. Maybe the builder cutout dictated the smaller size to be fair. Time will tell if it's going to stay for the long haul. The controls on the top flat surface of the door seemed strange, but I've gotten used to that. It could use a little more sound deadening.

First GE appliance ever. The quality is good for the price. I chose this model even with the "plastic" interior. I have no issues with the tub but I find that the racks are not terribly sturdy and stack options are somewhat limited compared to the Frigidaire I had previously. I definitely can make this work for us as we no longer have a family at home and we can be gentle with it. Very pleased with the cycle options for our needs and a lot less noisy than our other one. The door had a defect but did not interfere with the performance. Appliance sales store sent service tech to take a look at the door trim issue and he wasn't able to do anything for us. He felt that because its a lower end appliance the defect is probably the end result. To satisfy our curiosity we visited a box store today and the same model on display was perfect with no cosmetic trim issue therefore its obviously a defective product and we are on the losing end. Has us question the GE appliances quality going forward. Will definitely consider other brands in the future.

I purchased a GE dishwasher (Model #GDT550PYR7FS) less than five months ago, and it does not properly dry the dishes and leaves a Significant amount of condensation is left on the dishes and inside the dishwasher. GE has sent a technician out three separate times, and each time the conclusion was the same ™€" the dishwasher is ™€œworking as designed.™€ According to the technicians, GE engineers are aware and changed this design several years ago, and the excess moisture is ™€œnormal.™€ GE Consumer Relations has refused to replace or refund the unit and instead suggested a ™€œBuyer™€™s Remorse Discount™€ toward purchasing another dishwasher which is not acceptable. I feel misled as a consumer and very disappointed with GE™€™s lack of accountability and customer support.

Durability challenges. Installer warned me to only use middle of handle when opening the dishwasher door or damage/leaking could occur. So I must make sure I keep it partially open after cycle ends because my disabled son may not remember to open from the middle. Bottom rack tends to come off the track/dislodge & come out too far every time.

I love everything about this dishwasher. For the most part it is so much quieter than our last dishwasher. There are a variety of cycles to choose from so one has to experiment with them. The capacity is fine. I'm looking forward to checking the energy saving it gives me over the year.

Broke within FOUR MONTHS of buying it. Had official repair appointment, they came without the part needed to fix it. So, no dishwasher for a month during the holidays. No frills didn™€™t mean no problems™€¦

Absolute junk!!! Quit working two days after warranty expired. Shouldn™€™t fail in just over a year. Also it was loud when it did work and now it doesn™€™t work at all. Stopping filling with water and cleaning the dishes.

Cheaper materials than my previous GE dishwasher. The door feels like it™€™s made of all plastic. The only reason I bought another GE appliance is because they gave me a discount on a new one after my old GE dishwasher caught fire and almost burned my house down.

Disappointed- I bought this a little over a year ago and it worked fine at first but now it is unreliable. I load it and let it run through the night, but wake up in the morning to find that the soap dispenser did not open or it did open, but did not wash. At first, the problem was only on the one hour cycle and since I don™€™t use that cycle often, it didn™€™t matter to me. But then it started happening on every cycle, and now it has just completely stopped working on me. What a waste.

This item is a ™€œbuy out™€ replacement from GE. My previous GE Profile stopped working after just three years. A $900 dishwasher. GE offered me $500 to replace it. I did so with a far inferior and less expensive unit AND a four year warranty which totaled $485 dollars. This unit is loud. This unit is very basic. So far it is cleaning. All that matters. Hope it lasts longer than three years.

This dishwasher is pretty quiet . I live in a considerable small space, but I'm not interrupted while watching the TV And hearing the dishwasher , which is literally ten feet away . The energy part I'll have to update because,I'm not sure yet , but so far , so good.The capacity is great for a small family. I rinse my dishes before i put them in ,but as well it takes off dried food.

The dishwasher was a great price...we used it once and realized how quite it is also. Easy install. Wish that it came with the electrical end to plug in. The dishwasher is a very good investment....GE. Will always produce a great product...standard size to fill the opening .. the cycles seems long but did a great job. Normal capacity better layout then some. Features a delayed start option which is helpful to run later..
